Personally, I rarely start with a basic prompt (which is fine at 25 steps). Though in the cases I am looking for inspiration I will start there, then as I get inspired and refine, I add more details to the prompt and more steps ---- But more often than not, my prompts are very detailed from the jump with the subject, pose, setting, camera angles, lighting, etc. so I start at 40 steps and will dial down to 30-35 if needed. I almost live exclusively in the 30-40 step range for my images. I hope this helps!
